Here's the story--

Taylor and Luke had plans to ride go-carts and play mini-golf with friends on Tuesday night. Mark offered to drive them since I'd just (finally) made it home after being gone four days.

Where the highway goes four-lane near Wal-Mart (for all you locals), Mark was going about 60 mph passing a United Van Lines semi when Mr. United (traveling 58 mph) decided to change lanes. Mark was already there, so Mr. United's front wheel ripped into Luke's door. The lugs on his tire chewed up the door and slashed the tire. [Remember that famous chariot race in Ben Hur?]

Mr. United immediately slammed on his brakes as our car started fishtailing from side to side of the highway in front of him. Mark (thanks to superior driving skills dating back to his hot-rodding days of the 70's) took several seconds and the entire width of the highway, but was able to regain control of the car.

Later that night I was admiring Mark's awesome driving. He told me: I'm not taking any credit. God was helping me. But if you'd been driving, the angels might've had to fight against you.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Darling.

Doesn't look too bad for what it went through. lol. Much better than if it'd rolled or hit the ditch. The tire and wheel were ruined, so Mark put the dinky little spare tire on and was able to drive it home.

Everyone is fine, except maybe young Mr. United, who was very upset. Hopefully he's better now. :)
