In the afternoon we listened to a talk on wildflowers and walked the trails, identifying the flowers we saw. There were several kinds blooming, but the cold weather has been really hard on them this year. Couldn't get pics of the boys w/ flowers ;) but they did enjoy the walk.
Taylor kept us laughing: "You shouldn't have been surprised they died, Mom. They were already bleeding." (I had mentioned that my bleeding hearts had frozen.) Also many other quips, too many to mention ...because I can't remember them.
I noticed the longing in Luke's eyes every time we were near the creek or a really big rock. He had the hardest time staying on the trail... We'll definitely have to go back when it's warmer, and when there's not a volunteer along as a chaperone.
Finally, we watched the boys' guitar teacher play in a bluegrass band. We already thought he was a great musician, but have even more proof now! Don't think the boys will be switching over to bluegrass anytime soon, though.
