And Finally...

Now I'm done.

Two More of the Many Reasons I Love My Sister

She lets me take funny pictures of her. Like this one. This is what she looks like when she's rearing to go. I think she was rearing to go do the laundry.

But there's a serious side to Sanji also. She asks life's tough questions. Like -- "Why would they call this place Clearwater Beach if you can't drink the water?"

Final Florida Pics

We all spent lots of time at the pool. Here are Sanji and Jack poolside.

Luke tried surfing.

Kenny caught this very weird fish. Both eyes on one side, it lies camouflaged on the bottom. I can't remember what it's called and don't want to look it up. It was pretty nifty though.

My honey

The next door neighbor

Taylor didn't catch any fish, but he did spot this cute fish family on a van at Target.

Celebrating Kate's 6th birthday

Family time in the evenings

Mark and I spent some lovely evenings on the beach.

Several of the family spent the last afternoon hunting for shells and treasure way up the beach. Here are Rusty, Grant, and my brother Kyle.

Grant's find

Kyle found the treasure of the day.

Taylor started to pick up this shell, when it stuck it's "tongue" out at him. lol.

Sanji's dh Rusty. He's such a romantic.

Fog

The fog comes on little cat feet.
It sits looking over harbor and city on silent haunches and then moves on.

Carl Sandburg

Ok. I was feeling a little sentimental, but I'm done now.

On the Dock

The guys all congregate out there most of the day and into the evening. But I gathered my books and enjoyed some early morning reading on the dock before anyone else was awake. This was the view. Beautiful.

Just a little later

Luke and my brother Kenny spent some time fishing. Kenny spotted a little dead octopus on the bottom and worked for several minutes to snag the thing so he could bring it up for a closer look.

EWWW!!

These are two of my brothers - Tracy (with octopus) and Kenny. The octopus was a FAKE! I think they dropped it back in the water for the next unsuspecting vacationer.

A few dolphins visited the bay this morning. Several of us were on the dock when they swam by on their way back out to the open water.

Still later this morning Kenny took Grant and Kate fishing. I watched Kenny cast and Grant reel it in, Kenny cast, Grant reel it in . . . over and over. :) Sweet.

Florida -- The House

Nearly my entire family - 18 of us - are spending a week in Clearwater Beach, Florida.

This is the front view of the mansion we're staying in. We know it's a mansion because that's what the rental folks call it.

Here's the view from the pool, where I lounge and drink icy drinks with umbrellas in them.

A few pictures of the house I pulled from the internet--

Maybe later I'll post a picture of what this bedroom looks like now. It started out like this . . .

Taylor's Photos from Busch Gardens

The tiger and butterfly are made completely of plants. A very neat sight in the middle of winter.

~~~~~
I got a few good animal pics of my own.
I didn't take pictures of this bird attacking the cute little girl and stealing her french fries. She wasn't too happy with the bandit, and I thought the dad might not be too happy with me for photographing the ruckus.
Three Weeks Ago...
Ok, so I'm a bit behind in blogging. This has been on the computer the whole time, I just haven't taken the time to hit the "Publish Post" button.
Lee is in school 6 hours from home. Lee is mature. Lee is responsible. Lee normally makes very good decisions. But this is what happened yesterday [ok--three weeks ago] --
I slept in and was awakened at 8am by my cell phone beeping with a text message from Lee. Stumbling out of bed, I read the first few lines.
Can you come help me.
Im about 20 Miles away &
I locked my keys in my car.
Oh my gosh!! Did she drive home again without telling me!?! She's having SURGERY tomorrow! Did they decide to do it at the University here instead!?! WHY would they do that???
::Scrolling down::
Hurry cuz its going to rain
::Looking out the window::
What!?! It's not going to rain! It's sunny! Oh wait. She must have sent me this accidentally. She must've meant it for someone at school. WHY is she 20 miles away from school??? What's she doing??
I quickly dialed Lee's number. She answered with her sleepy voice.
Are you OK!?!?! What's going on???
It's a joke, Mom. Did you read the whole thing?
Ummm, well, no.
and my windows are down!
LOL. I love it when they play a joke on me and I fall for it bad. :^D
Oh that reminds me---have you seen the Blondestar ad?
Blah
This is no fun place to be the past few days. Intestinal distress. Apparently I'm immune this time.
The puking seems to be finished, now just lying around with aching stomachs. Taylor didn't even feel like eating chocolate chip cookies today. I didn't realize the sickness was quite that serious.
Luke and I settled on the couch for some reading from our old Uncle Arthur's Bedtime Stories. We always bring out those books when somebody needs some Mommy snuggling time but doesn't want to admit it. :)
I also started a new Bible study, enjoyed fun talks with all the kiddos, heard lots of loud music, said "Please don't break anything" several times, and did quite a lot of cleaning up after folks.
I don't JUST make fun of poor spelling.
I think poor planning is funny too.
Oh, I don't think my picture does this sign justice. Can you tell the S goes around a corner? It's on a different window. Boo photographer. I still think it's funny.
